Lucknow – A potential rail tragedy was narrowly avoided near the Dilawar Nagar and Rahimabad railway stations in Lucknow, after miscreants placed a large piece of wood on the railway tracks. The obstruction, a 6-inch thick log, was covered with a cloth inscribed with the words “Jai Shri Ram.” The motive behind the act remains unclear, and investigations are currently underway to determine the individuals responsible.
How Was the Accident Prevented?
The near-disaster was averted thanks to the alertness of the Kashi Vishwanath Express driver, who noticed the obstruction in time and halted the train immediately. Following the incident, the Garib Rath Express, which was approaching the same route, was also stopped to avoid any mishap.
Swift Response from Authorities
As soon as the information reached the authorities, personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the local police rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation. A case has been registered against unidentified individuals under relevant sections.
The wooden block and the cloth found at the scene have been seized and sent for forensic analysis. Meanwhile, both the railway authorities and police are working in coordination to track down those involved in the act and understand their intent.
